Salineras 4769
Looking from the top down to the valley. The Silineras de Maras, or the Inca Salt Pans, have been worked before the time of the Incas. Salt water from a subterranean stream is channeled to each of the ponds and then left to evaporate, after which the salt is collected by hand. The salt is collected the same as it was during the time of the Incas.
