The tower is built on a carved outcroping of rock. The lower part of the tower has the Royal Tomb in it. The Temple, on the upper portion of the tower has two window, one facing East and the other Southeast. The Winter Solstice (June 21st) the sun will shine through the East window and the Summer Solstice, (Dec. 21st) it will shine through the Southeast Window.

Could have been dedicated to the worship of the condor. The lower part of the building had small rooms which could have been cells for prisoners.

Wall built by the Incas in Cusco. The one large stone had tweleve corners. These rocks were carved and set in place by the incas. The tweleve corners represents the Inca Calander which has tweleve months.

The Mid 15th Century the Inca Emperor Pachacuti created his royal estate at Ollantaytambo. It became a main defensive structure against other tribes from the rain forest. The walled complex also contained a temple to the sun.
