The Khufu Ship, also known as the Solar Boat, is an intact full sized egyptian boat that was sealed in a vault at the foot of the Great Pyramid, Khufu's Pyramid, on the Giza Plateau around 2500 BC. It is believed the ship was intended for use by Khufu in the after-life. The ship is 143 feet long and 19.5 feet wide and is one of the oldest intact ship known at this time. The boats were constructed so they could be dismantleled when you came to rapids and then once carried around the rapids re-assembled.
