KataTjuta, also known as the Olgas, covers 512 sq. miles which includes Uluru in the Northern Territory. Kata Tjuta is made up of 36 conglomerate rock domes 350 to 500 million years old. Located in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. The Aboriginal people believe their culture was created at the beginning of time by the ancient beings and these rocks were proof of it. This area is a very religious place for them.
