Loch Ard Gorge, part of Port Campbell National Park, is named after the clipper ship Loch Ard, that run aground on a nearby Island. Only 2 survived of the fifty-four passengers and crew. 19 year old Tom Pearch was able to assist 19 year old Eva Carmichael to shore in this Gorge. The next day he was able to climb out of the Gorge and get help.
